I can work with any emotional or psychological issue including:
– Relationship problems
– Anxiety
– Depression
– Family problems
– Abuse
– Stress
– Addictions
– Bereavement
– Trauma

Recent areas of interest and additional training have included the following:

  • Self Esteem and Body Esteem – How to improve client’s estimation of themselves and their bodies.

This work is about helping clients who are experiencing anxiety around poor body image/body esteem to achieve a more positive view of themselves. For some clients this issue can result in mild discomfort and a little self consciousness while for others it can adversely affect all areas of life and functioning. The work involves developing body awareness and appreciation in order to achieve a better relationship with the body and ‘the self’.

  • Working Therapeutically with Disordered Eating

This work is about helping clients who have a disordered relationship with food.  We eat in order to meet our physiological need however for some clients food can be used in various ways to manage psychological distress and painful emotions. This strategy however leads to further problems and does not address the underlying deficit. The work with these clients involves learning to manage and regulate emotions and improving self concept.
